Call me a hillbilly…
by Barn_Owl
My family has lived in these mountains for 200 years. Almost all of that time has been in the same small valley.
My great, great, great grandfather. People throw around the name hillbilly in a bad way. They use it to mean poor, backwards, inbred. I disagree.
I know they are hard working farmers. They get up before the sun and work until it sets.
They serve their country when called upon. My family has fought in the Civil War, World War II and Vietnam that we can document.
They raise families….
Who raise their own families.
So go ahead…call me a hillbilly. I’m proud of the name.
